Tsuyu

Tsuyu - the rainy season has started. This means rain pouring down for hours - even days. Somehow though we have been very lucky - the weekends so far have meant lots of sun.

As the region where Koriyama is located is famous for its rice - and we do have many rice fields scattered all over, - the raining season is very important here.

The most beautiful symbol of the rainy season is the Ajisai flower. It appears everywhere during this season, wild in nature, in gardens, in shops and surrounding the rice fields. The flower changes colors depending on the time or the climate of the day and more or less cover the whole specture from blue and violet to pink and white.

These flowers here was a gift from out Japanese teachers mother.
